Dr Anuya Deshpande

Born into a medical family in Kolhapur, India, Anuya Deshpande moved to the UK with her parents when she was three.
She studied medicine at the University of Manchester, which included electives at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
After further training in general practice, where she took a keen interest in family planning and diabetic medicine, she worked in general practice in Blackpool, Manchester and London.
Over that time she developed an interest in non-surgical cosmetic procedures, which combine art, medicine and beauty.
This was a rapidly developing specialty in the UK and she engaged in further training, and then gained experience through her own private clinical work.
In 2006 she travelled to Gisborne, New Zealand to work at Kaiti Medical Centre, and in September 2008 she opened Skin Deep Aesthetics, which gave Gisborne a permanent, full time doctor led appearance medicine clinic.
Her aim is to provide affordable non surgical cosmetic solutions to the people of Gisborne and beyond.
By sharing her knowledge of anti-aging medicine and through the use of products such as BOTOX®, dermal fillers, IPL and the revolutionary ellman Surgitron® machine for scarless lesion removal, she helps Gisborne people look and feel their best.
